{"id":2511,"date":"2011-11-02T01:30:26","date_gmt":"2011-11-02T06:30:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stager.tv\/?p=2511"},"modified":"2020-07-25T18:58:55","modified_gmt":"2020-07-25T23:58:55","slug":"creativity-constructionism-in-the-land-of-endless-test-prep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stager.tv\/?p=2511","title":{"rendered":"Creativity &#038; Constructionism in the Land of Endless Test-Prep"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On October 5, 2011, I had the privilege of addressing leading education policy-makers and educators in Seoul, South Korea as a guest of the <a href=\"http:\/\/english.keris.or.kr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Korea Education Research &amp; Information Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I presented in a &#8220;classroom of the future&#8221; complete with horrific card readers with True\/False-type buttons (response systems) affixed to wooden desks. Given the orthodoxy associated with the staid nature of the Korean education system, I decided to go all-in and offer learner-centered progressive alternatives.<\/p>\n<p>I wish they had included the Q&amp;A period following my talk.
