Oprah, Barack Obama, NBC News, Arianna Huffington and most other rich & powerful folks keep telling anyone who will listen that the mediocre propagandistic documentary, “Waiting for Superman” is evidence that American want serious change ™ in education policy and they want it now!<\/p>\n
NBC, Oprah and other media behemoths have surrendered millions of dollars worth of air time to promote “Superman.” President Obama even had the poor lottery-losing kids to the White House for a photo-op, but there was no talk of them becoming Sascha or Malia’s classmates.<\/p>\n
A central message of “Superman” and its promoters is that we need to run schools like a business, with competition, merit pay, etc… That explains their affection for charter schools.<\/p>\n
So, how’s that free market stuff working out?<\/p>\n
Jackass 3-D made in a single weekend more than 25 times more than “Waiting for Superman” since it opened!<\/p>\n
When I saw the film, four of us packed the cineplex.<\/p>\n
