\nI am excited to announce that my old friend, Will Richardson<\/a>, and I are are hitting the road in October to lead a series of two-day seminars in Washington, D.C., the NY\/NJ\/Tristate area, and Boston. “Developing Powerful Modern Learners<\/a><\/strong>” will combine a progressive vision for school reform with hands-on activities intended to prepare educators to realize their dreams of a better future for the students they serve.<\/p>\n

In our 2-day intensive workshops, you’ll deepen your understanding around why learner agency has become such an important focus for classrooms, why school cultures are shifting to provide more freedom for students and teachers to take ownership of their learning, and practical ways to use technology throughout the school experience to amplify the construction of knowledge and shared learning. And, you’ll have personal, hands on opportunities to experience what learner agency looks like in practice.<\/p>\n

The question now becomes, how do we create experiences and cultures in our schools that build on our students’ increasing agency over learning through powerful questions and personal inquiry?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I will help participants lead project-based learning and computing across the curriculum through hands-on learning experiences. Will and I share similar goals for making the world a better place for kids, but hold different perspectives. Our interactions promise to be thought-provoking and truly entertaining.<\/p>\n

Each day will feature continental breakfast, hot Italian lunch, dessert, snacks, and beverages at our Maggiano’s Little Italy venues.<\/p>\n
